Privacy
This page describes exactly what QR Best does with your data. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version
You can use QR Best without an account, and without giving us anything. If you never sign in, the QR codes you build stay in your browser and are never sent to us. If you do sign in, we store your email address and a history of the codes you have downloaded, so that you can find them again later.
We show advertising from Google. Google sets cookies to do that. The section on advertising below explains how to turn the personalised part of it off.
What stays in your browser
The QR code itself is built and drawn entirely on your own device. The text, link, WiFi details, calendar event, or contact card that you type into the tool is turned into a QR code by code running in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server to render it, and this is true whether or not you have an account.
Your browser also stores a few small values locally:
- Whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Whether this browser has already used its one free full-resolution PNG.
- If you are signed in, the tokens that keep you signed in.
Clearing your browser data removes all of these. None of them are used to track you across other websites.
What we store when you sign in
An account exists so that your downloads are still there when you come back. It holds:
- Your email address, and, if you signed in with Google, the fact that Google confirmed it. We never receive your Google password.
- A record of each design you download. This includes the content of the QR code itself, so that the design can be reopened and downloaded again without rebuilding it.
- Your credit balance, if credits are in use.
Please read that middle point carefully, because it has a consequence that is easy to miss. A saved design stores what the code encodes. If you download a WiFi QR code while signed in, the network name and the network password are part of that saved record. The same is true of a phone number or an email address in a contact card. If you would rather that a particular code never leaves your device, build and download it while signed out, or delete the record afterwards from your profile page.
Logos you upload
A logo you place in the middle of a QR code is uploaded to our storage, because a design you share with someone has to resolve on their device too. Each upload is named by a hash of the file contents, which makes the address unguessable, but the file is readable by anyone who has that address. Uploaded logos are not deleted, so that an old shared link keeps working. Do not upload an image you would not be willing to publish.
Advertising
QR Best is free, and advertising is what pays for it. We use Google AdSense. What follows is the part Google requires every site using it to tell you, stated plainly.
- Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. You will still see ads, but they will not be selected using your browsing history.
- You can opt out of a much longer list of third party vendors at aboutads.info.
We do not give Google your email address or anything from your account. The advertising and the account are separate.
Payments
If you buy credits, the payment is handled by Polar, which is the merchant of record. That means Polar is the legal seller and handles the card details and the tax. Your card number never reaches our servers and we never see it. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase completed, which is what adds credits to your balance.
Analytics
We run no analytics product. There is no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, and no third-party session recorder on this site. Our servers keep ordinary technical logs of requests, which is what any web server does.
Where your data lives
Accounts and download history are stored on Amazon Web Services, in the Singapore region. The site itself is delivered from a content network with servers around the world, so the files that make up the page may be served to you from somewhere closer.
Deleting things
You can delete any saved download from your profile page at any time, and it is removed from our storage rather than only hidden. If you want your whole account and everything attached to it deleted, email us at macalat99@gmail.com from the address the account uses, and we will remove it.
Children
QR Best is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
